Soccer Celebration Thursday Night at 7:00

 The Marauder Soccer program will celebrate the season on Thursday night at 7:00, with all four teams invited to gather on Zoom for awards, short speeches (famous 10 minutes per team for all introductions and awards), and some special, exciting surprises.  The Zoom link will be sent later this week via every platform we know. All players and parents are invited.  We will begin at 7:00 and be finished by 8:30.  Unfortunately the world-famous dessert buffet will have to wait another week. It's been a wonderful, eventful, unique season.  We have much to celebrate.  See you Thursday!

Hanover Loses 2-1 To Windham in the Semifinals to End the Season

 Hanover's first loss of the season came in their last game, a 2-1 loss to a Windham team on a mission in the NHIAA Division One Semifinals at chilly Merriman-Branch Field.  The Marauders trailed 1-0 at halftime after a slow start,  and thentied the match in the second half that showed them completely switch momentum and at point point nearly take the lead.  Windham scored the game-winner in the 73rd minute and were able to hold Hanover off, and the Marauder bid to return to the Final and defending their title was over. Windham came into the game after a stunning-upset of top-rated Central, and the senior-laden squad took the initiative in the first half, outshooting the Marauders and maintaining an edge in play.  They threatened several times on corner kicks, and after 28 minuted they cashed in on a break into the Marauder end.  Midfielder Max Husson penetrated on the right flank and drove a cross through the Hanover box, connecting with Jack Runde, who crushed a volley past Ty No

Hanover Hosts Division One Semifinal Wednesday Against Windham

 The Marauders are back in the NHIAA Final Four, and for the first (and probably last) time in school history, they are hosting a semifinal match on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. against Windham. Hanover and Windham are both undefeated, but both are in the semifinals on the basis of upsets.  Hanover beat powerhouse Bedford 1-0 last Saturday, a mild upset over a perennial power that was ranked 9th in New England.  Windham beat Manchester Central on penalty kicks, knocking off the top team in New England. Both Hanover and Windham have emerged from "Groups of Death", and their first-ever matchup is a battle of heavyweights.  Because the Covid pandemic haas limited the use of neutral fields, host teams for the final four were were selected by a random draw prior to the tournament.  Hanover's Group Three was tabbed to host the semifinal. The winner of Wednesday's game at Megriman-Branch Field will travel to either Nashua South or Winnacunnet for Saturday's Final. Spectator ru

Marauders Beat Bedford 1-0, Host Playoff Semifinals Wednesday

  Jacob Kubik-Pauw scored the only goal of the game in the second half and Hanover beat a strong Bedford team 1-0 in the NHIAA Division 1 quarterfinals Saturday in Hanover.  The Marauders will now host the semifinals on Wednesday, and will play unbeaten Windham, who upset unbeaten Central 2-1 (3-2 penalties).   Hanover and Bedford last met in the 2019 Finals, and produced another top-flight match that was dead even until the 66th minute of the match, when senior striker Henry Aspinwall, Hanover's leading scorer, slid a pass to Kubik-Pauw at the top of the penalty area, freeing him for a shot just inside the left post. It was the junior's second goal of the season.   Hanover's sophomore goalkeeper Ty Nolon played a strong game in goal for the Marauders, making four saves to earn his third shutout of the season.  He made a spectacular diving save early in the game on Bedford's Ricardo Foltron, a constant threat on the left wing for the Bulldogs, whose only loss of the sea

Hanover Soccer Schedule Friday and Saturday/ Uniform Deadline/Grassroot Soccer

 The Marauder Varsity boys, delighted by the 1-0 victory at Bedford by the Hanover girls, will now be training on the turf on Friday from 5:45 - 7:30.   The girls' win over Concord presaged the boys' epic 2-1 win.  Will form hold with Bedford? Hanover hosts Bedford on Saturday at 2:00 in the NHIAA Quarterfinals.  The winner will host the semifinals on Wednesday. This is Hanover's 9th year in Division One.  During that time period, four schools have established themselves as the top teams:  Manchester Central, Concord, Bedford and Hanover.   Exeter and Pinkerton are close, but the numbers don't lie.  In the last nine years, Central, Concord and Hanover have won two titles.  Bedford has won once, and had more first-place finished in the regular season than anyone. In 2012, Hanover's first year in Division One, coming off of a season which saw them win only 11 times and lose at home on penalties in the D2 quarterfinals, the Marauders beat Central in the regular season
