The Hanover Soccer Program Has a Lot of Fit Players

 The final optional preseason session for the Marauders prior to Tuesday's Tryouts was the annual fitness evaluation, the time-honored "Beep Test".  It's a 20-yard shuttle run, with timed intervals pacing the runners, signaled by a "beep".  As the test continues, the intervals between levels become smaller.  It's a good measure of cardiovascular fitness.  Over 70 players participated, and a large percentage of them finished at least level 10 "Fit.  The largest percentage ever finished at level 12 or above "Very Fit". Each one of the four classes was represented in the Top Ten.  The Senior class was the fittest.  Six of the top ten finishers was from the village of Lyme, including four of the top six, and in addition the two top Freshmen.

We'll repeat this test periodically, because the goal for us all is increased fitness as the season goes on.  The players are not competing against each other, but against themselves. The camaraderie of the team today was superb. Players stayed (safely distanced) to root for the others. Injured players came, just to root for the others. The significance of today's results was not just the top finishers, but the strong results for the entire a group.  This is a fit, strong pool of players, physically, mentally and socially. Tuesday beckons.

Hanover High Boys Soccer 2020 is Underway!

As the Hanover High School community prepares for a new and unique school year, we are also preparing for the 2020 soccer season.
