Hanover Soccer Supports Grassroot Soccer

Most of you are well aware that we try to help our players become aware of opportunities to serve others by supporting both local and worldwide charities.  We have raised more than $3,000 for LISTEN and for the recently-concluded CROP Hunger Walk.  We have just learned that we have been selected as the only school in NH to host a Grassroot Soccer benefit game this Friday in our home finale against Keene at 4:00.

Grassroot Soccer is one of our favorite not-for-profits, founded by HHS and Dartmouth grad Dr. Tommy Clark.  Over several decades, Grassroot has helped educate more than 2.3 million children in many countries, primarily in Africa, about education and testing for HIV/AIDS.  Several Hanover Soccer alums have worked in Africa with Grassroot as interns and staff members.  Last year, led by Captain Charlie Adams, the Marauders raised nearly $2,000 for Grassroot Soccer.  Charlie is lending his energy to help with this year's effort as our Honorary Co-Chair.

The compressed nature of this year's season has jammed several of our charity efforts together.  Sorry for the fundraising fatigue. Grassroot Soccer is a unique not-for-profit with local roots, and deserves your consideration.  Please check out the enclosed information, and consider helping us.
