Marauders Prep For The Week Ahead

Wednesday will be a training day for all for teams after a rain-soaked day off Tuesday.  The JV1, JV2 and Freshman teams will all practice at Dresden from 4:00 - 5:30, and the varsity will train on the HHS Turf from 7:15 - 9:00.   The Freshmen and JV2 teams will scrimmage on Wednesday.

The JV2s will step up on Thursday and play the Lebanon JVs at 5:00 Thursday on the HHS Turf.  Players will be given two wristbands each for parents who wish to watch the game.  Earlier this season the JV1s beat Lebanon 2-1 in the same location.

The Varsity will be prepping for a 7:00 match on Thursday with their Lebanon arch rivals.  Hanover beat the Raiders 2-1 with a last-minute goal in the opening game of the season. Lebanon has been unbeaten since then against local rivals, and will be playing with one practice under their belts after a week off for Covid contact tracing.  Varsity players will also get wrist bands on Wednesday at practice.

The JV1 return to action Friday with a road trip to Kearsarge Friday night, a 6:30 game under the lights. The team will depart at 4:30.  Hanover beat Kearsarge earlier in the season in a wild 5-4 game.  The teams will again play using Massachusetts rules, with no heading, no throw-ins, and no defensive walls.  Training Wednesday and Thursday will emphasize familiarity with those rules.

Covid closures are looming on every side, but the past few days have emphasized the quality of the precautions taken by the SAU, the schools, and the NH State contact tracing teams.  Practices and games will continue safely, and continue to depend on strict player adherence to all protocols, not just in practice but 24/7.  The teams are eager to continue their seasons, and grateful for every opportunity.  Every day is precious.
